A Dream Born from Passion

Jewels of HOPE was born from a profound desire to uplift and empower marginalized women, offering them hope even in the darkest corners of life.

Our vision was clear: to provide a safe, nurturing environment where these women could learn artisanal skills, transition to further employment, and access educational opportunities.

This dream was fuelled by the generous grant from Innoweave and McConnell Foundation, and with the guidance of business coaches from Purrpl, Reframe Concepts and the unwavering dedication of HOPE Outreach's Executive Director and Founder.

The Bracelet That Started it All.

Our journey began with an invitation to women experiencing vulnerability across shelters and agencies to participate in a design-a-bracelet competition. The winning design, a heartfelt representation of hope, became the cornerstone of our first collection. This bracelet, with its three strands of beads in the colors of the medicine wheel and a central black onyx bead, symbolized a collective wish for hope and healing.

Our Women

In the heart of the Okanagan, many women face economic challenges, struggling to secure the financial support they need. Jewels of HOPE stands as a symbol, offering these resilient women a sanctuary where they can channel their creativity into crafting exquisite jewellery.

For every piece they create, Jewels of HOPE ensures they are recognized and rewarded. Our artisans receive honoraria, a token of our appreciation and respect. This often takes the form of gift certificates to local establishments, enabling them to procure essentials. As we look to the future, we envision expanding this support to include scholarships, furthering their educational aspirations. Embracing their roles as makers, these women find a renewed sense of community, creativity, and purpose.

The jewellery, a testament to their skill and dedication, finds its way to online platforms and local markets. Beyond crafting, we provide avenues for them to delve into roles like market vendor associates, offering training and fostering personal and professional growth. Every purchase made ensures that the revenue is channeled back to the Okanagan, amplifying our outreach and initiatives to uplift and support our artisans.

While our artisans are immensely talented, the journey of mastering the craft takes time. To meet the demand, we've collaborated with Friends of HOPE to assist in the jewellery-making process. This means that delivery times might vary between 2 to 6 weeks. We cherish your patience and understanding as our artisans evolve, embracing their roles as creators and connectors in the community.

Jewels of HOPE, an extension of HOPE Outreach Okanagan, is deeply committed to fostering an environment that is both economically sustainable and empowering. Our ultimate goal is to pave the way for marginalized women to chase and achieve their dreams, ensuring a life filled with safety, health, and boundless possibilities.
